Latino Fashion Show

Terralyn and I went to a Latino fashion show Saturday night. It was a really good time. It was being hosted to promote the Bella Magazine....a Latino magazine in Indianapolis geared toward Hispanic women. We had good food, yummy margaritas and were extra girly with our comments toward the fashion as the women walked down the runway. The picture is of Terralyn and I in the VIP room before the show started. There are more pictures up on my Flickr Photos if you wanna check them out.

Since I've been at Butler....

I currently work in a division of the technology department called "Instructional Technology." I was hired in July of 2004, so this will be three years now that I've been working here. When I was hired, I worked with Diane and Jill under our director, Ryan.

A year after I started working, Diane and Jill both submitted their resignation at about the same time.

Bev, Serdar and Ed were hired.

A year-and-a-half later, Ryan, the director, submitted his resignation.

Ryan has yet to be replaced, 9 months later. They haven't even started the search process.

Today, Ed submitted his resignation.

That leaves Bev, Serdar and myself.

NEVER before have I ever seen such turn-over within a team I've worked. So, I'm wondering, who's next?

Chicago is pretty sweet!

My hotel was right in the heart of downtown across from the Saks 5th Avenue and down the street from the Nieman Marcus. I loved it. Tall, tall buildings, tons of people walking around, tons of restaurants to choose from, a lot of energy and a lot to do. It reminded me why I loved Denver so much. There was a lot more energy in Denver than Indianapolis and I miss that a lot. Indianapolis definitely has it's good points, but they are mostly practical. I miss the fun and excitement of larger cities and may want to live that lifestyle again after awhile. In the meantime, Indy will do. The picture here is of me in front of the outdoor auditorium in Millenium Park. I have some other pictures up in my Flickr Photos if you wish to check them out.

Next Stop: Chicago

I'm off to Chicago in about......oh, I guess 5 hours, now. I'm going to a training session for Macs. I'll have tonight and part of the day tomorrow (until 1:00) to just chill out until the training, so I might try to see some sights. Terralyn told me I *must* go look at shoes since Indianapolis apparently has the worst shoe selection she has ever seen. While it's not high on my list, I told her I'd consider it.

I'm taking my camera, so I'm sure I'll have some pictures from the short trip. Oh, I get back Tuesday night.

Love,
Mona

Sometimes I wish I were a vet....

Found a little squirrel at the side of the road. Didn't seem to have any physical markings that indicated it was injured, but the poor little guy was just laying there in the gutter, not able to move. I wrapped a piece of paper around him in order to pick him up and set him in the woods. I'll go back in about an hour and see if he's still there. Hopefully he was just dazed and won't be there when I return. If not, I have a box for him and have already contacted some local wildlife rehabilitators to inquire on what to do with the little guy. Let's hope he's gone when I go back.....an update soon.
