Question....

Assessming my personality and your experiences with me along the way, what do you think of Mona becoming a counselor? I'll be more specific. Counseling in the education arena, such as advising and/or career counseling or counseling with the Latino community (since I'll eventually be fluent in Spanish....hopefully). I would not go into Mental Health counseling at first, which requires an extra 20 credits of school work and another 300 hours of an intership.

Let me know your thoughts. :)

My Phone is Dead...

UPDATE: My phone is now replaced and I can get calls again. Same number.

So, don't try calling me for the next several days. My phone just decided to up and die. Fortunately, since I just bought the damn thing in May, it's still under warranty and will be replaced for free. Unfortunately, it's all done through the mail, which means it's going to take awhile. So, you'll have to contact me via email or other methods for the time being. Sometimes I really hate cell-phones.

Longest work-week ever....

It's official. I have had the longest work "week" ever. I have now worked 12 days straight. I am SO ready for the weekend. Tonight I'll be margin' it up with Terralyn at Chipotle and I don't plan on going light on the margaritas. The rest of the weekend will be reserved for doing everything I want to do and hopefully nothing responsible and/or needing my supervision.

I get to work this Weekend!!! YAY!!!

It's that time of year again at Butler University. WELCOME WEEKEND! All the students swarm back to campus and we "volunteer" (I use quotes because it's actually mandatory) on Saturday and/or Sunday the weekend prior to the first week of classes to help students get their computers up and running on the campus network. Since I'm not a technician, I am always tasked to do "Graige," a combination of Greeter and Triage. I go around saying hello to students in buildings asking them if they have their computers up on the network and tell them where to go to get that done. I am also the first person they talk to when going into the labs and then I pass them off to a technician. It's actually a good fit for my personality. I work Saturday from 10-5 and Sunday from 10-12.

OK, Butler. Let's get ready to rumble!

I got my hair cut.....

So, I got my hair cut on Friday. I don't think I like it, but I'm not sure. It's about a good 6 inches shorter than it was....maybe more. I did want a change, but I guess I wasn't expecting it to be this different. When I left the salon, I felt pretty good about it. BUT, the stylist used a round brush with a blow-dryer to make it straight. All of you are aware that my hair is in fact not straight. It can be quite curly. So, I went ahead and fixed it curly-style, and.....well......uhmmmmmm....I guess the best way to describe it is that I looked like an 80's rock star. In a bad way.

So, needless to say, I've been mostly pulling it back since I got it cut. A few more inches of growth and hopefully it won't be quite as boufant. Of course, I can blow it dry straight, but I just don't have the patience for that. I'll try to get a picture up eventually.

Our house....is a very lovely house

Here are a few pictures of the "new" place. I use that in quotes since the house was probably built in the 30's or 40's. And it certainly doesn't look new on the inside. I like the green on the outside and we'll certainly make the inside cute. It will just take some time. I have some more pics in my Flickr Photos, including a picture of Dean, Lindsay's cat. At this point, my cats will tolerate him being in the same room, but still get pissed off if he tries to play with them. The cat antics are quite hilarious sometimes.

Aches and pains...

I am exhausted, stressed out, sleep-deprived and defeated. BUT, I'm moved into my new place. Some annoying facts:
  • My legs, arms and even my hands are sore
  • Max kept me awake for the entire night with incessant meow-ing (I'm thoroughly pissed at him for this)
  • The new house is in complete shambles (of course)
  • The air-conditioning isn't working correctly in the new place and it's the hottest week of the summer
  • My cat's and my roommate's cat are sparring for who is dominant, which makes for very interesting noises throughout the day and night (I'm beginning to hate cats)

I'm sure there is more I can tack on to the list, but we'll keep it short and sweet.
